RIP

sorry for the non posts people i honestly do have a lot to show but the Saturday just passed my grandma slowly passed away after a series of small strokes and its just been hard getting used to the idea, i come from a very young family in the grand scheme of things so this is the first tragedy we've had in a long while.

the world lost an amazing person on Saturday, truly one of the most beautiful women i'v ever had the chance to meet let alone be related to and i'm going to miss her terribly. so just bare with me ill be up and running soon

Exams and freeedom

so as of 3.30 today i have officially finished school. i have no reason what so ever to ever attend it which is kinda cool and dead scary at the same time but i guess it gives me more time to focus on my art and what ever it is a do to fill in the time between what would of been lessons. On the more interesting side of thing's iv decided to go for the whole t shirt printing thing and because i'v been looking in to it for a while i pretty much know everything i need to so now its just a case of taking a leap and parting with my money ): i'm still trying to decide between two designs but once i have a final print ill be putting it up here, then all i have to do is try and shift them which i'm hoping i can do otherwise my wardrobes just had a massive investment. you'll be happy to know who ever it is that reads these little things that iv started making a new addition to the old creepy men gang set of drawings with a sweet asss rough sketch of Ivan the terrible check that crud out yo :

also i got another t-shirt through today and im well impressed its from nockturnal clothing and it think i love it plus it comes with free stickers, all clothes should come with some kinda present i think which got me thinking how i could make my t-shirts different from other brands so im thinking free sweets with every purchase

Its been playing on my mind a lot the idea of starting up something to do with t shirt designing and its something i played around with a little bit when my pictures first starting getting some attention i was pretty pleased with what i managed to create but its still wasn't completely there, these are basically the two finished designs i came up with there from my earlier drawings that i colored and expanded on:

 I got really good feedback with these and was seriously considering getting them made but as i dragged out the decision everything just kinda lost steam and i never really gave it another thought until recently when some more of my drawings started getting attention. Since i still had the software to apply my designs to a t shirt template i thought id give it ago and see what the out comes where, and i was really pleased to say the least:

I like these sets of tee's a whole bunch more than my other ones and i'm really considering trying to take it somewhere but i think its something ill really have to look in to.

Nights out and burning effigy's

This video made me crazyy happy, i love bright eyes and the new album deserves more and more attention because its honestly the best album of the year for me well that or helplessness blues and this video just makes me fall more in love with not only Conor but the whole band. since this is one of his newer songs ill post my favorite older song it doesn't have a video but it doesn't need one its just amazing .iv been trying to learn it on the uke but its going pretty slowly .



 As well as this new video i went to an awesome little gathering last night just a good bunch of people having a good time until people started acting like dicks which kinda ruined the mood but it picked up again and i got hang out with my friends and my girlfriend so it was a success to me  we reenacted our own little wicker man cause thats how we rolllll.

I thought i'd add this in cause they're my girls and they are way to cute, the vain little things 

New designs and New clothes

So the last few days have been pretty darn good, iv been sitting on a little sketch iv been doing for the last two days and i finally got the chance to scan it in and edit it for you nice folk so ill show that a bit later, even better two t-shirts i ordered arrived today and i love them they are freeekin sweet heres one (Y)

and to top it all off i got the new Duke Nukem game which is mind bogglingly nostalgic cause i remember sitting with my dad watching him play it on the playstation when i was but a child and it just brings back loads of memories from my first house, so iv been playing the game for like half an hour with a stupid grin on my face because its nice just thinking about the days when i used to watch with baited breath and now 12 years later i get to play . so on to the art nonsense i did this drawing and it originally had a mountainous background but i got rid of it in the editing stage because it just didn't look right and no matter how i played with it, it just wouldn't sit well to me so i did away with it and i'm pretty pleased to be frank ill include the two finals i come up with (:

This was really just a sketch done on a whim but somebody said it would look good as a t-shirt design which got me thinking, iv thought about going in to t-shirt designs and i have a few mock ups that'll eventually work their way on here but i might play around with a few templates and see what comes up until then i want to get back to my historical figures/gang members, iv already got a few ideas mainly its Ivan the terrible in a flat peak but ill let y'all know when i'm done,

Some new stuff and some old stuff

Hopefully you liked the band, there called Touche amore and they're amazing if your in to anything like Mewithoutyou or La Dispute, i think i like the bands i do because although every single one of them has wankey sounding songs the lyrics are always stellar and it was one of touche amore's new songs that had a few lines that really made me want to draw something epic so i guess i owe them a thank you.

 so lately iv been working on this idea of taking famous but creepy looking historical figure's and turning them in to modern day badly interpreted american gang members, iv only done two so far but i'm freaaakin pleased with how they turned out like really pleased, i'm hoping to do enough to actually have a small portfolio of them. but while i was thinking about other characters to design i was looking at my wall that i put all my drawings up on and i thought as a little added extra at the end of this post i'd add one or two just to kinda show what i liked and how i used to draw to what i do today as there gonna be in a post with my most recent (complete) pieces.

Every one knows that if there was an award for most fucked up creepy looking historical figure it'd be a toss up between these two, Rasputin and Poe must be the ugliest sons of guns in the world but there awesome to draw and i was really pleased with how there two turned out, i think i'm most impressed with my Edgar Allan Poe pun i mean its pure genius. i think i came up with the idea after i'd drawn a vague sketch that resembled Rasputin and put crosses underneath the eyes and suddenly thought haay it looks like gang Tattoos and it looks like Rasputin thats awesome and things just went from there.
And like i promised two pictures i drew when i was in like year 10 i think i'm not to sure but i'm still pretty impressed with what i did kinda sad really i think things have even gone a bit down hill, oh deary me

Photography If your in to it

I realize there isn't really any proper pictures of me up so for those who might be a tad curious of the face behind these odd ramblings its this thing , thats me, in a girls hat 

Now aside from the good old fashioned way of art i.e. scribbling on a piece of paper i quite like taking photos and editing them on Photoshop, i don't care what people say i freakin love Photoshop and its something i think anyone who has an interest in art should try out most people just assume its evil or cheating well they can go die (: so i present to you 

 I did a lot of light drawing for my Current A2 art book and 

these were actually done in the art cupboard at my school.

 These were for the same art project as the art light drawing 

i took a kind of panoramic set of pictures of my room while Georgia

was on my bed then i overlapped them and added different color filters.

Tid Bits and Introductions

Since i don't want to write some massive cliche in my About me section i thought it might be easier if i just show you guys and gals what it is that i actually like and what influences me cause to be honest i have quite a small hub from which i work.

My name is Curt Moore and im just about to embark upon the wonder that is a university so that means i have a lot of spare time at the moment which im hoping to dedicate to this blog and my art, but before i start uploading more recent work lets get to know each other blog reader without further a due i present :

Who doesn't love over the top gore? fucking Hemophiliacs thats who, but seriously this movie reminds me of being young i know that sounds a bit messed up but let me elaborate, when your a child staying up as late as possible is pretty much the only goal you have when it reaches about the 7 o'clock mark, well it was for me at least and on the rare occasions my astounding delay techniques wore my parents down enough they'd let me stay up with them. i remember two times with perfect clarity and weirdly enough they both involved watching Two classic horror movies the thing and the evil dead, being a young boy obsessed with play fighting and Dragonball Z fell in love with the over the top comic fighting in The evil dead and next to back to the future its probably my favorite trilogy .

 I have a list of about 5 bands that i could listen to forever on reply and i,m quite proud of the diversity really t Bob Dylan, Bright eyes, Everytime i die, mewithoutyou and Architects.

 i love my music and i don't really function well without it i mean have you heard the world without music playing, its boring, full of children's laughter and birdsong how awful.

 When i befriended my girlfriend Georgia i saw her playing a ukulele one day and from that moment on i had this ambition to play one not only because it seemed a bit unique and fun but i think somewhere inside me i wanted to impress her a bit i don't know why i thought it would impress her i should of gone for something sexier like the guitar or cello, but i think its because i was so impressed she could play it well maybe i could impress her just as much if i could play it well, so when i started courting her (courting's so much nicer than dating isn't it) i would continuously play with her ukuleles till i reached my 18th and the lovely girl brought me my own which i play much to the grievance of my parents every single day.

Ever since the day i was born i have been around dogs, my house has never not had dogs in it currently i have 3 dogs who are the oddest combination in the world, we have Kanu the black dog in the picture who's 12 and had a stroke so she's a bit wobbly but she's the nicest thing on this planet much nicer than any person iv ever met i mean if it wasn't illegal and slightly impossible id marry the canine right now, Toby the white and brown dog in the picture who's a rescued greyhound theres not much to say about him really he's soft as anything but that may be due to the fact that he seems to have extreme brain damage thats the only reason i can imagine why he pee's on his own feet dense but always happy to see you And Freddy who's not in the picture is a jack russel who i assume just hates everything i dint even know dogs to grumble till she came in to my life, that said i seem to be the only thing she doesn't hate with a passion which i like.

But i wouldn't be a Bog standard artist if i didn't confess and show off my love for comics and Xbox games, i mean its really stupid how much i love both those things, like really really stupid i love it to much but i will say this if your stuck for ideas for what to drawn there is nothing better for immersing yourself in art than comics or games because as soon as you start reading or playing you have literally entered a visual world of someone else's creation, although i know you can sat the same for all art, games and comics don't just give you a glimpse in to that world they show you they take you through and entire journey or and entire story .

Kicking things off i guess

Ive been thinking for days how to start this whole thing off and so far iv been coming up blank, i mean right now as i type i'm just taking whatever come to mind first its all a bit scary really. I guess the reason i joined in on this whole Blogging malarkey was to just show off the scary little drawings i do in my spare time and maybe get the chance to write about them so that someone somewhere might read them one day and like what i have to say. I'v uploaded quite a few drawings to Facebook and generally people seem to have liked the stuff iv made which made me think that maybe theres more people out there that might want to take a look.
It's all happened fairly quickly, all this art stuff i mean, i started doing some drawings with fine liners and kinda fell in to a style i felt really comfortable with, then i did a recreation of one of Jordan Buckley's pieces (Every Time I Die) and things just started snowballing from there, iv been a massive fan of his work since i found his blog while researching the band and to this day he is my Favorite artist hands down (checkout his work here -http://www.jordanbuckleymadethis.com/) . Like i said things started snowballing and from that flowed loads and loads of drawings some of which im proud and others i just think i did because i wanted to keep on riding on this wave of ideas and interest my drawings seemed to create. i'm only gonna include the ones i really like Cause after all i'm trying to show off arn't i thats what this whole blogs for. 

This drawing is actually done on A3 i think it took me about 7 hours from start to finish

i'm still working on scanning on these in so i can upload better versions but this'll 

have to do till then. 

 This was actually a final piece design for my art graphics A-level and i guess i like it

for the same reasons i like my clown/pirate picture, i just put so much time and 

effort in to every detail it feels like an accomplishment to me

So thats basically why i wanted to start this whole thing up iv literally got stacks of drawings and doodle and snippets of useless information waiting to be uploaded on to here and hopefully people will wanna see what it is i put up next. just a note though a lot of the stuff coming up will be a bit dated cause iv started this whole thing off from the very start so bare with me till i can get this all up to speed
